Who Do You Want to Be?

Question: What is the best personality or the best identity for you to assume?

Answer: Anything you want! A cheerful friend, a businesslike executive, a caring listener. Whatever is best at the time. Different circumstances require different attitudes.

For example, to be a bossy manager at work might be appropriate, but you might drive your spouse crazy if that identity comes home with you. To be a rowdy sports fan at a game is great, but not who you should be when asking for a raise.

The reason people have trouble determining who or what they should BE is because . . . they don't start with HAVE.

"Children in the West are commonly asked `What are you going to BE when you grow up?' It is a silly question and can drive any child up the wall. Because it's the wrong question -- it hits the wrong end of the cycle."

"The child is also asked, `What are you going to DO in life?' That's just as bad. It is quite difficult to answer."

"If we asked children, `What do you want to PRODUCE in life?' we could probably get a workable answer. From that they could figure out what they'd have to do to produce. And from that, they could know what they had to BE. Then, with a little cooperation they would be able to lead a happy and valuable life."

"A lot of people and businesses fail because they don't do this." -- L. Ron Hubbard

Seth Godin argues the Internet has ended mass marketing and revived a human social unit from the distant past: tribes. Founded on shared ideas and values, tribes give ordinary people the power to lead and make big change. He urges us to do so.
Seth Godin is an entrepreneur and blogger who thinks about the marketing of ideas in the digital age. His newest interest: the tribes we lead.

Awakening your inner genius

If you’d like to know what some of history’s greatest thinkers and achievers can teach you about awakening your inner genius, and how to find, follow, and fulfill your journey to greatness, then you want to read this book today.
See, you can score in the highest ranges of IQ…and fail to succeed in life. You can work incredibly hard…and never realize your dreams. You can stumble across beautiful opportunities…only to watch them wither and die.
There’s something else—something considered unfathomable by many—that lies behind greatness. And in Awakening Your Inner Genius, you’re going to be taken on an adventure to discover what that is, and how you can use it to transform your life.
You see, genius is a path, not a gift. Studies of history’s greatest geniuses have shown that there is a “genius code,” if you will. A combination of very specific traits that we can develop in ourselves, and thus, operate at a genius level.

In this book, you’re going to learn things like…

HOW TO GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN 2013

by Grant Cardone

Everyone wants to achieve GOALS throughout the year but very few people actually do.

I want to help you achieve your GOALS this year - YOU of all people deserve to get what you WANT. It has come to my attention that a lot of people have trouble with the topic of goal setting - how to set goals, how to understand if they are realistic, how to persist on goals and then make them a reality.

So I create a video for you on how I set goals and clarify what it is I want, how to ensure I get them and then how do I use the goals to cause me to passionately persist toward them throughout the year. What you give attention to is what you will have attention on. Give your goals attention, give them a lot of attention, persistent attention and then clarify what it is you want.

Here are the steps and I will go into them in detail in the video.

Three Steps to Getting Anything You Want (3)

Getting Organized

As covered in two previous articles, to succeed you need to NAME and WANT whatever product or result you are after. The third component is ORGANIZE TO GET YOUR PRODUCT.

"The purpose of organization is TO MAKE PLANNING BECOME ACTUALITY." -- L. Ron Hubbard

Well-organized operations make it simple for its employees to follow the set procedures. For example, McDonald's restaurants can train a high-school student to run the cash register, fill orders and provide good service with just a few days of training. Everyone in McDonald's does it the same efficient way, from Burbank to Boise to Berlin.

Three Steps to Getting Anything You Want (2)

The "WANT" Factor

As mentioned in last week's article, you can get anything you want if you do three things: "NAME" or describe exactly what you need to create, accomplish or produce, "WANT" that result or product, and "ORGANIZE TO GET" that result or product. This article addresses WANT.

How badly do you want to succeed?

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 meaning you are so excited and passionate about your success that you can't sleep), how would you score right now?

How important is it for you to reach your goals? How badly do you want to increase your income? How much do you want to improve your future?

"Where no real or valuable production is occurring, one has to ask the question, does the executive really WANT the product he is demanding? And does the staff member or members he is dealing with WANT the product?" -- L. Ron Hubbard

Do you hate rich people?

by Grant Cardone

Are we becoming a country that hates rich people? Are we becoming a culture that frowns on the Financially Successful?

Lets be honest about this.
This was the subject of a lot of discussion on my radio show today, The Cardone Zone and I wanted to share it with you because this may be something that is preventing you from achieving the success of your dreams.
You hear of a guy that was born into wealth and never had to work in his life ---- don’t you resent him a bit?
Our society has sayings that suggest resentment, envy, misunderstanding and disdain of successful people... "He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth," and "the meek shall inherit the earth," for example.
I hear people suggest that rich people are greedy, dishonest and the biggest stereotype, "Oh he may have money but he isn't happy." You are bombarded with this type of thinking every time you turn on the TV and hear Obama talk about how wealthy Americans need to pay their fair share or how the top 1% are somehow suppressing the rest of us.

Why do we do this as a society? And most importantly what is the effect on YOU because of these ideas or beliefs being projected onto YOU?

Harlem Village Academies, A different school

Deborah Kenny's fixing education

Deborah Kenny wants to scale the effective programs her organization, Harlem Village Academies, has produced. By avoiding previous, well-intentioned, failures and by providing teachers and students with empowering tools, she wants to get what's working for her schools in every US school--and she encourages all of us to get involved.
